Connect the microphone and start recording
Weighing only 24g, the Sony ECM-AX10 microphone is the ideal accessory for your smartphone. It's so small you can take it with you anywhere. The microphone connects directly to your phone's USB-C port, so there's no need for an adapter or complicated setup. The package also includes a windshield, an extension cable, a cold shoe mount, and a spacer, giving you everything you need to start filming anytime, anywhere.
The Sony ECM-AX10 microphone is easy to control
Capture precise sound whether you're shooting in portrait or landscape. The Sony microphone has a built-in accelerometer that automatically detects its orientation, ensuring the audio is correctly aligned with the video, no matter how you're filming. When you're in front of the camera, the dedicated SELFIE switch instantly adjusts the recording direction for selfies, ensuring your voice always comes from the right direction. No matter what noisy environment you're shooting in, the ECM-AX10 keeps the sound clean. The automatic audio level adjusts the recording level in real-time, while a peak level indicator and a physical ATT switch give you full manual control, even in noisy environments like a race track or a bustling market. A switchable noise cut filter removes distracting ambient noise, while a separate low cut filter suppresses wind, air conditioning, and vibrations that can cause muffled sound. The 3.5mm headphone jack lets you monitor the audio in real-time while you're recording. In spatial mode, you'll hear a binaural mix, so you can hear your 3D soundscape exactly as it's being recorded. When you switch to stereo mode, you'll hear a standard stereo mix.
App for recording and sharing
With just a few taps, you can effortlessly share your content right after recording. The app gives you the option to edit video and audio, combine clips, and fine-tune individual details. Once you're happy with the result, export it in the format you need: Eclipsa Audio, binaural, or stereo for instant sharing with your audience, or as Ambisonics (audio only) for further editing in your own workflow.

Microphone principle
A dynamic microphone is suitable for open performances, live broadcasts, music production, etc. It uses a magnet and a moving coil to capture sound.
A condenser microphone is mainly used for studio purposes. It has higher sensitivity and lower noise. It must be powered separately.
Frequency range
The frequency range indicates the range of frequency values that the microphone records. The wider the range, the more sounds it can capture.
Low frequencies (e.g. 20–200Hz): Bass, the deepest notes of instruments (double bass, kick drum) and male voices.
Mid frequencies (e.g. 200–3000Hz): The body of instruments, the core of the voice where the ear is most sensitive, important for speech intelligibility.
High frequencies (e.g. 3000–14000Hz): Treble, details, sibilance and the "shine" of the sound.
Air band (above 14000Hz): Gives recordings a feeling of expensive, super-quality sound and space.
Sensitivity
Microphone sensitivity is the ratio of output voltage to acoustic pressure. It expresses how loud a signal the microphone produces at a given acoustic pressure; higher sensitivity means a stronger voltage and is suitable for quiet studios, while lower sensitivity is better for noisy environments as it doesn't unnecessarily amplify ambient noise.

Sony Corporation is a Japanese company founded in 1946. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo. Its beginnings were humble. The first product sold under the Sony brand was a transistor radio. It was those radios that played a pivotal role in the company's expansion in the 1960s and the world quickly began to associate Sony products with a reliably stellar price-performance ratio.
In the 1970s, Sony was severely affected by the global economic crisis. Many analysts considered the company effectively defunct and could see no future for it. However, they underestimated the famous Japanese perseverance and courage. The crisis was not a disaster for Sony; on the contrary, it served as a launching pad to even greater heights. The company recovered and soon changed the media landscape with the development of the CD and later the DVD. In the early 1990s, Sony achieved another major success with the introduction of the PlayStation gaming console. It is the gaming consoles that best represent the intersection of the three key areas in which the company operates today – electronics, video games, and the entertainment industry.
